Challenges in Optimal Bandwidth for Medical Image Transfer

This dissertation thesis is focused on the optimization of bandwidth parameters for the transport of medical image data between medical devices and remote data storage. As real and fully functional structure, which will be analyzed in this work. It was selected system MeDiMed (Metropolitan Digital Imaging System in Medicine). The thesis examines the operation of the small health organizations and their modalities, which use this system for remote data archiving. Traffic analysis is then statistically processed. The thesis also deals with the analysis of increasing the security during accessing health system, and assesses its impact on transmitted data. The effect of setting the transmission parameters and the most widely used types of ciphers on the transfer speed is also compared.

Respondents of Czech modal verbs in the past tense (contrastive corpus analysis)

This bachelor thesis deals with respondents of Czech modal verbs in the past tense (contrastive corpus analysis). The theoretic part discusses the concept of modality and also of modal verbs in both Czech and Spanish. Another key topic is concerning the verbal periphrasis that are characterized and divided into several categories. We particularly paid attention to the periphrasis containing the modal verbs. The last chapter is about the past tenses in Spanish. The practical part aims to analyze the Spanish equivalents of Czech modal verbs in the past tense using the corpus InterCorp v13. The thesis is concluded by the Czech conclusion and the Spanish resumé which sum up the fundamental points of the whole.

Ways of formulation of prohibition in Russian in comparison with Czech

The thesis deals with the issue of expressing a ban in Russian in comparison with Czech. The theoretical part provides a brief overview of the ways of expressing the ban in the comparison plan. Theoretical starting points are applied in the practical part of the work, where the knowledge is supplemented by acquired examples, and we find out in which ways of expressing the ban in both languages exact equivalents can be found and where, on the contrary, the expression of the ban differs. Commented translation: Guide de manoeuvre (Éric Tabarly, Luçon: Éditions Le Télégramme, 2008)

The thesis consists of two main parts- translation and its commentary. It is a translation of 3 chapters of a French yachtsmen guide Guide de manoeuvre (Wharf mooring or double moor to another boat, Anchoring and Man overboard maneuver). In my translation, I tried to preserve the major function of the original text - to inform and instruct the reader. The second part of the work is a commentary of the translation which is focused on translation analysis of the original text, typology of translation problems and the methods of the translation. In the translation analysis I describe the original text with the factors affecting the text. Then I focus on the translation problems I dealt with and how they were solved. In the conclusion, I describe the translations methods I used.

The Development of the Form -m.u to Forms -ó/ -jó and daró as an Example of Grammaticalization and Subjectification

The thesis is a continuation of studies of Japanese modality, however its theme is not defined based on a particular kind of modality as is commonly done in synchronic studies but based on completely or to a degree shared common origin of the studied forms. Usage and properties of Early Middle Japanese -m.u are compared with usage and properties of Modern Japanese {-ō /-jō} a darō, schematic meanings of respective forms are suggested and grammaticalization and subjectification shifts which have taken place during approximately one thousand years of development are mapped. The results of the analysis show that subjectification has taken place and that the main impuls leading to the subjectification changes was grammaticalization of suffix -m.u to ending {-ō /-jō} respectively to particle (in Narrog (1998) terms) darō, which lead to split of one schematic meanings "inclination" in general control cycle (Langacker 2002, 2009) to two separate schematic meanings "inclination" in factual respectively epistemic control cycle. Thesis Abstract This final bachelor thesis consists of two parts, czech translation of the french text and its commentary. The first part of this thesis is a translation of one section of the French breedes guide L'Homme et le chien. Bien communiquer. written by french veterinarian and entomologist Patrick Pageat. In this first part which consists on translation, I focused on creating a comprehensible and straightforward text for the czech recipient. I perserved the essential function of the original text - to provide information and give to the breeders the useful advice. The second part of the work consists detailed translation analysis of the original text. Then I focus on individual translation issues that I had to deal with in the czech text. The conclusion of the work summarizes the methods used in translation and provides the typology of problems.
